Dealing with Worker's Compensation after an Injury!!

I know that the last thing a person wants to think about after he or she has been injured on the job is what you are going to do from here? But, I have a word of advice for you that you should really think about is "Hire an Attorney!" I learned this the hard way. I have a friend of mine that is going through the same thing that I went through also which I will tell you a little about if you continue to read.
I hurt my back on the job in August 2003 and it was complete misery that I dealt with because of the care that worker's compensation was putting me through. First, what happened was I completely tore my disc at the level of L-5 thru S-1 and worker's compensation sent me to one of their doctors that happened to be in Las Vegas, which was closest to my home because I lived in Kingman, AZ. This doctor was just the beginning of a horrific time that I had. The first time that I met with him I went with my mother cause I could not drive myself and he actually had the nerve to kiss me. I thought maybe it was a fluke so I continued to see him and he actually operated on my back and he only went in through the front which was a mistake. I ended up falling all of the time. I quit seeing him after I went back for a follow up visit and I told him that I was falling and feeling horrible and he asked to see my scar in my back. I know that he read my file before he entered the room and was completely aware that he only did an anterior surgery. When I unbuttoned my pants and turned around he had the nerve to pull down my pants and look anyway. What nerve of this doctor.
I called my case manager from worker's compensation and told them that I will never go back and see him in my life. The way that I put it was "would you send your wife to someone like that?" And get this...it took them over 6 months to agree to let me see another doctor because of the fact that I had already been operated on by another doctor so no doctor's wanted to take me. Finally, they agreed to let me see a wonderful doctor in Phoenix, AZ. This doctor kept telling them that I needed another back surgery because the one that the doctor in Las Vegas gave me failed. Worker's compensation agreed after 2 years and then they tried to cancel at the last minute. Thank God I had a wonderful doctor who told me that I needed to come in anyway. Even their doctors said that I needed this surgery. The point of all of this is now I am disabled because of the constant delay's and I am in constant pain. It is best to get an attorney that you can trust right away so that you are not going through this on your own. Worker's compensation's policy is going to deny you always even if you are in desperate need of the surgery. Please get an attorney.
